Tips & recommendations for visitors to Mexico City (CDMX)

Over the past few years we have been asked a number of times for tips & suggestions for friends or friends of friends who are visiting Mexico City. This week we finally organized into a google doc all the ad hoc thoughts that we usually send via email. We love our city and are happy to help visitors enjoy their time here. Below is the link to the google doc. Please feel free to share it.  http://bit.ly/CDMXTipsPaskwarho

Visit with Jose & Janette in Estado de México

Visit with Jose & Janette in Estado de México

Earlier this spring we had the chance to visit with Jose & Janette out on their farm in Estado de México, about 2 hours west of Mexico City. In addition to being a skilled artisan with a unique vision and approach to his pottery, he is also incredibly friendly and generous with his time. We...

Where it all began

Where it all began

In October 2015 we came across a set of beautiful molcajetes at the 46th edition of the "Concurso Estatal de Artesanías" in Pátzcuaro, Michoacán. (Shown here is a large molcajete painted in the traditional "capuliñado fino" style, with a royal blue exterior and yellow interior.) Judy fell in love at first sight and we bought them quick before anyone else saw them. Once on display in our house back in México City it seemed all of Judy's friends commented on how unique and special they were. Although there is an amazing amount of great pottery to be found in the...
